Tuam Seminar Postponed

Rosaleen Durkins seminar for parents titled Practical Strategies for working with dyslexia in primary school children in home and educational environments which was scheduled to be held in Tuam Education Centre on Thursday, 25th of November, from  7pm – 9pm will unfortunately not now go ahead on this date.

Tuam Education Centre are hoping to reschedule Rosaleen’s Dyslexia Seminar for February/ March 2011. Please check Lectures and Seminars schedule and Tuam Education Centres website periodically for further updates and developments.

Rosaleen Durkins seminar on dyslexia covers practical ideas for working with children of primary school age diagnosed with dyslexia. The seminar content includes information on whole brain learning, imagination, relaxation techniques, self-esteem issues, concentration and nutritional information.

Rosaleen Durkin’s lecture on Practical Strategies for working with children with behavioural and learning difficulties will be held on Wednesday, the 10th of November from 19:00 to 21:00 hrs.

Courses can be booked by phoning the Drumcondra Education Centre on 01 8576400 or by using their on-line course booking system. Places are strictly limited.

Early Focus Project underway in Dublin

ImaginationGYM are running a series of ten educational workshops for sixteen children as part of The Early Focus Project in Mater Dei Primary School, Basin Lane, Dublin 8 beginning on Tuesday Nov 9th 2010.

In these one hour workshops, children will take part in the creative and fun experience of The Enchanted Forest program and activites designed and adapted to specifically suit the needs of the children. The workshop will be run in a multi-sensory room which will enhance the creative, sensory and learning process.

The children will also receive The Enchanted Forest CD for use in their home environments.

Photography Competition 2010

ImaginationGYM are currently running a Photography Competition for children in conjunction with the Gallery of Photography in Dublin. The theme for this year’s competition is “My Favourite Place” making it a very easy project to integrate with curriculum subjects.

The competition is a great way to get children involved in photography at a young age. It is free to enter and there are lots of great prizes to be won. The age categories are 6-9 yrs and 9-12 yrs.

The closing date for entries is the 31st of December so there is lots of time for the children to enter.
