Stimulating Intelligences
Everybody has multiple intelligences and these are developed in us in varying degrees. Amongst these are linguistic, logical, kinesthetic, spatial, musical, interpersonal, intrapersonal and naturalist. Much of the theory in this is attributed to Howard Gardner of Harvard University. The ImaginationGYM® Methodology sets out to develop all of these throughout its program series.
For example, the imagination exercises by their nature are intrapersonal. Through the breathing exercises and the quiet reflective time the listener begins to develop an awareness of self. This time out can be very important for a child (or adult) who lives a life constantly surrounded by external clutter whether organized or unorganized. In other words, “Where do I begin and the World ends?” The Enchanted Forest would be strong on nature intelligence also.
Theses multiple intelligences combined with left or right brain dominance can indicate an individual’s preferred learning style. The easiest way to start is by using something like The Enchanted Forest Activity Book which will give you clues as to right or left brain preferences. However this will only be fully effective if you stick to the Methodology’s rule on Creative Freedom.
